Through year-round STEM and college-access programs for underrepresented students, TGR Foundation inspires students to accelerate their STEM knowledge, pursue STEM careers and develop leadership and soft skills so critical to success in the 21st century workplace.

With a commitment to integrate mindfulness training into student and teacher curriculum, the TGR Learning Lab introduced new classes and workshops geared towards mental wellness, including the launch of Mind Craft, a class focused on neuroscience and the malleability of the brain and intelligence.

Our Earl Woods Scholar Program welcomed the first cohort of Los Angeles scholars.

Our digital platform, TGR EDU: Explore launched 12 new STEM and college-prep assets, providing students with interactive lessons and activities geared towards introducing them to new careers and higher education.

We believe educators can give their students access to the most cutting-edge and innovative education and help create pathways to success through project-based STEM learning. By investing in educators and providing powerful, collaborative opportunities we will vastly increase the number of students we impact.

Through educator professional learning opportunities, our programs unite educators around the world and allow them to share their best practices and learn how to better engage and empower their students.

STEM Studio introduced educators to drone technology along with lessons and careers to incorporate this emerging technology into their classrooms.

The STEM Studio model shifted from half-day and one-day sessions to multi-day sessions, deepening the impact on educators and students.

TGR Foundation and the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) in Washington, D.C., launched the Integrated STEM (iSTEM) professional development series, providing ongoing training to local educators from five Washington, D.C. public schools throughout the academic year.

Public and private partnerships are the key to innovation and prosperity for individuals and communities. With our partners’ support, TGR Foundation’s programs help inspire and prepare a talented and diverse future workforce.

Farmers Insurance company launched a TGR Foundation donation fund in the name of a late executive, Stan Smith, to support the Earl Woods Scholar program.

TGR Foundation partnered with 100+ schools, districts, corporate and foundation partners, government agencies and nonprofits to bring our programs to more underrepresented youth.

TGR Foundation was recognized at the Social Good Awards for its digital platform, TGR EDU: Explore, developed in partnership with Discovery Education.

We believe reaching students around the world must involve organizations that are passionate about empowering youth through education and are allies in creating change and enhanced opportunities.

By investing in professional learning for the international community and expanding our digital resources, TGR Foundation is empowering more youth around the globe.

International participants of our STEM Studios have formed “sister” classrooms with the domestic STEM Studio participants to engage students in learning across countries.

TGR Foundation partnered with the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. African Development Fund to bring educators from around the globe to our inaugural International STEM Studio.

When Tiger Woods and his father Earl founded TGR Foundation in 1996, we started with the belief that education has the power to be transformational. This belief continues to guide our work every day and influences the lives of the many youth and families we have impacted over our 23-year history.

We closely measure this impact to assess the effectiveness of our efforts in helping students discover their personal interests, develop self-confidence and strengthen academic skills. The data and information we collect also informs our ongoing program development.

In 2016 we set out to reach millions of young people through a strategic expansion plan, and we’re on track to meet and exceed our goals by 2020. Our progress to date has not only deepened the impact of our programs on the students, educators and communities we serve, but has also extended our proven approaches to education across the U.S. and around the globe.

Expand global impact by doubling the number of educators participating in our International STEM Studios, to reach an estimated 36 countries

Expand educator professional learning through STEM Studios in two additional regions.

2018 was filled with unforgettable experiences. The support of our team, board, donors, partners and volunteers have allowed us to make a significant difference in the lives of youth.

In 2018 there were many highlights for TGR Foundation. Our programs and events continued to expand and perform extremely well, allowing us to reach milestones and achieve ambitious goals.

Although we had a lot to celebrate, I think our most important accomplishment in 2018 was codifying TGR Foundation’s mission, vision and values – the strategic framework that is critical to the success and long-term viability of any organization. If carefully created and truly followed, it defines who you are, what you do and how you do it, which in turn ensures a sustainable enterprise that can succeed for generations.
